Crowds Enjoyed Incredible New Venues and Shows

EDMONTON, AB – Incredible entertainment, rides, shows, shopping and fun for the whole family fun were all on tap at this year’s Capital EX.

With ten days of favourable weather, attendance for Capital EX 2010 reached 747,660 visitors.
“With the construction of the Edmonton EXPO Centre complete, we were able to offer our guests a more permanent layout for Capital EX and increased parking for the first time in 3 years,” said Ken Knowles, President of Northlands. “We were also pleased to introduce a number of new attractions including ‘It’s a Candy Nation’ and the Centre Stage venue. Having the ability to move Family Fun Town indoors allowed us to centralize the children’s areas in one location and give parents and children the opportunity to enjoy the fair regardless of the weather.”

Hedley, Metric, Stereos and George Canyon headlined the TELUS Stage at night while popular children’s acts Shrek, Bob the Builder, Bobs and Lolo and the Backyardigans delighted children and their families during the day.
