Hall E Now Open For Business

Northlands celebrated a major milestone in their massive $160 million expansion of their trade and consumer show space today as Phase 1 of Project Evolution.09 officially came to an end. Hall E, a new 53,438 square foot show space, is now open for business, and will host its inaugural show, the Edmonton Ski & Snowboard Show, from October 25-26, 2008.

“It’s an exciting day for everyone at Northlands now that Project Evolution.09 is finally starting to come to fruition,” said Jerry Bouma, Chair of the Northlands Board. “When completed in the fall of 2009, Northlands will be home to the largest trade and
consumer show facility west of Toronto.”

“It’s been a long process getting to this day since we first broke ground on Project Evolution.09 in February of 2007,” added Ken Knowles, President & CEO of Northlands. “With the doors to Hall E now open, and an additional 150,000 square feet of show space still to come, you can see how Northlands will soon be able to compete for some of the largest trade shows and conferences in the world.”

When completed, Project Evolution.09 will add an additional 200,000 square feet of show space to Northlands facilities, providing a total of 522,071 square feet of integrated space. With over 2,500 events hosted each year, Project Evolution.09 will
solidify Northlands position as the premier event and trade show venue in the region. Project Evolution.09 is supported in part by a $25 million contribution from the Government of Canada, and a $50 million contribution from the Government of Alberta.
