K-Days is famous for having numerous Meet and Greets though-out the 10-Day fair. Whenever the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (also known as just, TMNT) come out of their New York sewers and make the trek to Edmonton, die hard fans are always waiting.
Tye Babb had a big surprise for his sons, “I looked at the schedule a week ago and saw that these guys were coming. We planned to come to K-Days this weekend for sure.” Babb’s love for the turtles started back in May 1984 when they were first seen in print, “I first saw the Ninja Turtles when I was growing up as a teenager. I saw the first graphic novel, then I watched cartoons, lots of cartoons (started in 1987) and then the movies started coming out, (first one 1990).”
Now, 33-years later, he gets to share this meet and greet with his kids is pretty special, “This is really good, it is great actually!”
Even though the younger Babb, Spencer, did not know that he would get this meeting, he came to K-Days sporting his favourite TMNT socks. When it comes to his underground idols he does not play favourites when asked who he likes best; the answer was simple, “Mostly everyone.”
