update – March 24, 2020

These are uncertain times and as people across our city and around the world grapple with the magnitude of COVID-19.

The local, provincial, and federal governments, as well as many Albertans, are taking preventative measures to flatten the COVID-19 curve. At Northlands, our staff have been working from home in order to be able to practice social distancing, support their families, and still work hard on this year’s events.

We’re still in contact with our community partners, sponsors, and the hundreds of volunteers who help us throughout the year. We thank everyone who is helping the community in these trying times – from healthcare professionals and emergency services, to cleaning and garbage crews, to the frontline retail and grocery staff, as well as all the volunteers helping watch out for each other.

Right now, we’re in a climate of constant change, with new updates and changes happening daily. At Northlands, work is continuing on K-Days and our other events.

We hope to see you this July, so please take care of yourselves and one another.

Peter Male, Northlands

update – March 16, 2020

Northlands, like the general public, is closely monitoring the impact that the coronavirus outbreak is having around the globe. As part of this, we are following guidance from the Ministry of Health and related agencies in Alberta and Canada as well as the World Health Organization and others in relation to travel and understanding potential risks to locations where people gather.

It is important to note that the risk in our region and in Canada is deemed to be low at this time.

As this situation evolves, we will continue to rely on guidance from government agencies and the World Health Organization will implement any recommendations or protocols related to our region.
