As the proud host society of the 28th Commonwealth Agriculture Conference, Northlands is offering several scholarships for applicants to participate in the Next Generation Sessions, November 3-5, and the Main Conference, November 5-8, in Edmonton, AB. The deadline to apply for the scholarships is this Friday, June 1.
This scholarship offers the opportunity for Alberta’s next generation farmers to connect, communicate and discuss global agriculture issues and challenges with RASC Next Generation representatives. These delegates will come to Edmonton, AB from over 50 leading national and regional agricultural show societies, agricultural associations and research bodies working in 20 Commonwealth countries. They are all under 40 years of age and bring a wide range of experiences from their countries and societies.
“With this scholarship, Alberta’s next generation farmers have a platform to share their agricultural experiences with delegates from across the globe. Through this exchange of knowledge and learning experiences, our local farmers can make global connections and gain exposure to the global agriculture industry,” says Lisa Holmes, Vice President of Northlands, host society of 28th Commonwealth Agriculture Conference.
Scholarships will include complimentary registration for the 28th Commonwealth Agriculture Next Generation Sessions and Main Conference (value of $1,519).
- Must be between 18-39 years old
- Must be a resident of Alberta
- Must be actively engaged in the agriculture industry

Successful scholarship candidates will be contacted the week of June 11.
The scholarships do not include hotel accommodation at Chateau Lacombe. However, Next Gens can share accommodation with other delegates for approximately $60 CDN per day.
